Print preparation

For this semester’s final Learning Activity we learned about printing and all the things we had to consider before sending our work to the press. We also delved deep into the process of making a magazine layout, and preparing it for print. Here I also learned about paragraph styles, which I really should have used for my Mandatory Assignment, but I didn’t know how to do it then. I think I’m allowed to fix this for when we are making our portfolio.

Design a magazine style dummy brochure, and prepare it for print

We were to create a magazine dummy of 10-20 pages, so I made a fictional magazine called Hope, where one of the features is about Black Lives Matter. The images are from Unsplash.com.

The magazine must have a front page with two spot colors, which ended up being pink and white. The magazine was also made ready for print.

(I made a horrible typo for the cover, so I had to re-upload it)

Here is my PDF file:

Here is a picture of my packaged project, as well as the .zip-file for the project. The file was too large for this blog, so I uploaded it to my illustration page, www.norillustrasjon.com (please have a look, if you want to): http://www.norillustrasjon.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/HopeMag2020.zip

Learn about magazine layout and print preparation

As a final part of this double week’s learning activity we were to do two long tutorials. I got about halfway through both of these, to be able to do this learning activity, but I didn’t have time to finish them. I will finish them this week though.

I’ve been working on two very big freelance projects, while also doing school work, so there was too much work and I couldn’t keep up.
